A State of Emergency

yellow-state-of-emergency-signIn light of recent, tumultuous events that have occurred in the United States, my humble assessment is that we are in a state of emergency.   My spirit feels a sense of urgency to pray for our nation like never before.  We are in a battle of ignorance, racism, hatred, terrorism, disunity, police brutality, civilian retaliation, chaos, disparity, murder, rage, suicide, and rebellion.   II Timothy 3:1-5 states the following about the last days:

“But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people. ~ II Tim. 3:1-5 (NIV)”

If any members of the Body of Christ are walking wholly in truth, we cannot deny that we are truly living in the last days.  We find ourselves in a racial divide that is damaging the church of Jesus Christ.  The “oppressed” are seeking validation by focusing on futile issues outside the concern of christian living.  The “newly, self-proclaimed victims” want to make our nation what it use to be when minorities and women were demeaned and treated with inequities.  The word of children take precedence over the parent and the teacher.  Evolution has trumped creationism, moving further from the truth of God to a place of complete fabrication.  Those pursuing the highest office in our land have much to be desired, particularly one who has yet matured to a place where decorum has no place where he resides.  His language has been lewd and crude, inconsiderate of anyone observing on this worldwide stage. Lies and integrity have been a question of both candidates, and we lean on a obtusely bias world of journalism to communicate the events of the day.  Personally admired for their execution of God’s Word, the “Christian Evangelical Preacher/Televangelist” has picked the wrong side, especially as it pertains the note scripture in II Timothy, chapter 3.

Black, white, brown, red, and yellow have turned away from God. We could not, we cannot afford to live this way, especially when our nation was founded on a spiritual deficit by at least 400 years.  The hypocrisy of our nation is in a state of emergency because it is now reaping what it has sown.  We expect a people to follow laws that were not written for them, so they now flood our prisons.  We created a justice system that was created to control them, and now we are a people who feel unprotected.  We created a capitalistic society that urges the world to come and work and live the “American dream”.  But, when there are winners, there are many more losers.  We have become so greedy, that “those people” should not be allowed to vote or else the office will be stolen from “them”.

We are definitely in state of emergency, because of so many inequities and only certain ones must feed their families by “any means necessary”.  We need to stand together, the Body of Christ, a people of all nations, to pray.  The word of God calls His people to pray.  My prayer is for the Body of Christ to unite, to love everyone, and to exemplify the characteristics of Christ by acting and speaking according to the fruit of the Spirit, outlined in Galatians 5:22-23:

“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. ~ Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)”

This means that we must forgive.  We must bear our own crosses.  We must rejoice with one another and mourn with each other.  We must care for one another and think of each other more highly than we think of ourselves.  We must fear God and never fear anything or anyone else because it is the start of our walking in wisdom.  Righteousness and wisdom has, seemingly, left our nation long ago.  But, there is hope in the Savior, in the Everlasting Father, in the Power of the Precious Holy Ghost.  In our Triune God, we have hope!75-Athanasius-suffering-humanity
